John first heard the term political correctness in 1975. When he asked his friend, what is that? After the explanation, John replied, "That is the biggest conversation killer I have ever heard." John felt it was wrong but had no wherewithal to challenge it. For thirty-five years, it bothered him. It wasn't until twenty-eleven that, looking at a possible second term for Obama, he finally coined the phrase "Constitutional correctness trumps political correctness."In 2010, John created a website to present his research results to anyone who wanted to reference it. He added a blog tab to capture his thoughts on current issues as they drew his attention. Most of those blog entries are incorporated in this book Constitutional Correctness Trumps Political Correctness. Read, enjoy, and contemplate the content.Preparing his website for the twenty-sixteen election, he was watching the candidates in the presidential preference primary, he switched his choice from the Texas candidate to Trump because of Trump's tenacity. John was certain that if next Republican candidate was a true American and believed in the Constitution, he would be vilified by the establishment, the socialist Democrats, and the globalists and Trump appeared to be a fighter. As president, he has suffered the lies of the establishment and fought back, all the while he was able to fulfill many of his campaign promises. The Republican establishment, the socialist Democrats, and the globalists just slowed him down. The voters made the right choice. We Patriotic Americans are in a war and our enemy is within our borders. As voters in this revolutionary war, we need to be able to recognize who the enemy is, what weapons he uses and the scope of the battlefield. We also need to know who are our allied candidates.

In recent years, debates surrounding “political correctness” (PC) have once again intensified in the United States and other Western countries. Although PC has a long history, the term today is typically associated with a type of leftist-progressive puritanism that prevents people from speaking their minds or voicing uncomfortable truths that might “offend” members of marginalized groups or communities. In many respects, the political ascendancy of Donald J. Trump, and his appeal to millions of people not only in the USA, but around the world, hinges on the belief that his presidency represents a repudiation of the repressiveness associated with PC. Indeed, throughout his political campaign, Trump declared himself to be an “anti-PC” president who would always “speak his mind” and “tell it like it is.” However, while many celebrated Trump’s maverick, anti-PC stance, others saw this as an attack on basic standards of decency and civil discourse. Timely and important, this collection is authored by scholars from various disciplines, and will be of interest to educators, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as anyone interested in the debates associated with the so-called “culture wars” in the West. Each chapter addresses how the PC debate has continued to shape social and political discourse in different areas, including race relations, gender issues, terrorism and national security, higher education, the media, and immigration. The point is made that while some of the criticisms directed against PC are worthy of serious consideration and discussion, it is also true that PC, particularly in the era of Trump, has been increasingly employed as a form of ideological scapegoat to delegitimize and roll back language, attitudes, values, behaviors, and policies that are vital for promoting objectives associated with gender and racial equality, human rights, democracy, empathy, fairness, multiculturalism, and inclusive curricula.

In the wake of an extremely contentious U.S. presidential election that touched upon several hot-button issues including the right to marry and the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement, debate has erupted regarding the language people use to describe both political issues and groups of people. This book takes a look at the widening gap between those who believe political correctness is an unnecessary affectation and those who believe a greater good can be achieved with increased sensitivity in how we talk to, and about, each other. Through analyzing a range of viewpoints, students are encouraged to form their own opinions on this important topic.

Fundamentally Transformed: Conservatism's last chance to Restore, Protect, and Preserve Traditional American Values is a MUST-READ for all conservatives and for that matter, for every American. Every aspect of traditional American society is under relentless assault and this book outlines common-sense solutions to restore traditional American values, preserve conservative principles, and promote national patriotism. There is definitive sense of nationalism pulsating through America in 2017. We love our country and we wish to preserve traditional American values. We have plenty of tolerance, when people respect and obey our laws and do not enter our country illegally and kill our citizens. We already pay more than our fair share, when in some states, nearly 50% of our incomes are confiscated by government tax burdens. We have enough government control, with governmental agencies and institutions that have infiltrated nearly every segment of American society and subjugated all sectors of the American economy. We are sick of political correctness. We are sick of American society being systematically emasculated by over-sensitive groups, who are ostensibly offended by the views, language, positions, and opinions of others. We are sick of traditional American values being relentlessly assaulted. There continues to be a fundamental misunderstanding and underestimation of how absolutely SICK AND TIRED the American people are with the status quo, the way this country was run during the Obama administration, the way the mainstream media does not report the news but rather, creates FAKE news, and with the condescending political correctness permeating every aspect of our society. WE ARE SICK OF IT! One of the key realities underpinning and defining the primary theme of this book is this fact - our country was fundamentally transformed and this fundamental transformation clearly defined the constitutional crisis we were witness to during the Obama/Clinton years. We were on the precipice of living in a post-constitutional era in the United States of America, when and where the electorate allowed a ruling political class and D.C. partisan cartel to fundamentally transform the United States through the massive overreach of executive authority, the usurpation of congressional power, and via illegal and unconstitutional social-engineering tactics. Get this book. Read it. Share it. Help revive the American dream. Together, let's restore traditional American values, reinvigorate conservative principles, and through a Donald Trump presidency, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Traditional values of God, family and country will win over "change and conflict for the sake of change and conflict" any day. Someone who holds traditional values close will not falter though many may hope for it, thinking the self implosion will come at any time by some outburst or thoughtless expression that will not be politically correct. Someone who upholds traditional values will rise above all the dissension and animosity and see the God-given good in all people, even those blind to it themselves. They will make the right decisions despite strong opposition from the opposing party as well as both ends of their own party. They will not fall under the pressure of special interests and lobbyists, nor become beholden to the financially powerful. They will do the right thing and get the right things done. When this day comes, when wholesale goodness returns to this land, it will be like a breath of fresh air in the morning.

Winner, Bronze, 2020 Foreword Indies, Political and Social Sciences Winner, 2021 PROSE Award for Government & Politics "Deserves a place alongside George Orwell’s 'Politics and the English Language'. . . . one of the most important political books of this perilous summer."—The Washington Post "A must-read"—Salon "Highly recommended"—Jack Shafer, Politico Featured in "The Best New Books to Read This Summer" and "Lit Hub's Most Anticipated Books of 2020"—Literary Hub Historic levels of polarization, a disaffected and frustrated electorate, and widespread distrust of government, the news media, and traditional political leadership set the stage in 2016 for an unexpected, unlikely, and unprecedented presidential contest. Donald Trump’s campaign speeches and other rhetoric seemed on the surface to be simplistic, repetitive, and disorganized to many. As Demagogue for President shows, Trump’s campaign strategy was anything but simple. Political communication expert Jennifer Mercieca shows how the Trump campaign expertly used the common rhetorical techniques of a demagogue, a word with two contradictory definitions—“a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power” or “a leader championing the cause of the common people in ancient times” (Merriam-Webster, 2019). These strategies, in conjunction with post-rhetorical public relations techniques, were meant to appeal to a segment of an already distrustful electorate. It was an effective tactic. Mercieca analyzes rhetorical strategies such as argument ad hominem, argument ad baculum, argument ad populum, reification, paralipsis, and more to reveal a campaign that was morally repugnant to some but to others a brilliant appeal to American exceptionalism. By all accounts, it fundamentally changed the discourse of the American public sphere.

This book seeks to address the relation of political philosophy and Donald Trump as a political phenomenon through the notions of patriotism, cosmopolitanism, and civic virtue. Political philosophers have been prescient in explaining trends that may explain our political misgivings. Madison warned during the debates on the Constitution that democracies are vulnerable to factions based on passion for personalities and beliefs; various continental thinkers have addressed the problem of nihilism—the modern loss of faith in objective standards of truth and morality—that in Max Weber’s analysis pointed to the importance of charisma, in Carl Schmitt’s to the idea that politics is essentially rooted in the definition of friends and enemies, and in early Heidegger resulted in the emphasis on the enduring significance of local, rather than cosmopolitan values. The former concerns—regarding demagoguery, charisma and nihilism—will enable an evaluation of Trump as a political character, while the latter concerns—regarding the status of universal versus local values—will enable us to evaluate the content of “Trumpism.” Taken together, these essays seek to advance the public conversation about the relationship between the rise of Trump and the ideological forces that seek to justify that rise.

The nation continues to see Trump as an anomaly. Political correctness does not play center stage when he addresses the nation. Mellow out, hold your mouth, don't say what you mean to say are admonitions heard daily. Anti-Trump advocates from both sides of the isle bite at the bit and make every effort to kick Trump off center stage while they muscle their status quo, things as usual retort. Both sides of the isle understand there are a million ways to kill Trump. The problem seems to stem from the emotional armor his supporters put forth protecting Trump and those around him from flack meant to discourage free expression and putting forth alternate solutions. Alternate solutions such as seeking to see problems from a different angle. Sticking to the same line of sight will bring forth the very same image. Sticking to the same solutions will bring forth the same failures...
