The prefixes which indicate multiplica tion and division are the same in all, pointing out increase or diminution by ten, one hundred, one thousand, as in our decimal system of coinage decrease being denoted by the prefixes deci, tenth, centi, one hundredth, and milli, one thousandth, while increase is signified by deka, hekto and kilo, tenfold, one hundredi'old and one thousandi'old, respectively.
