Some of these tables and diagrams will also be found of such a general nature that they can be used when the designing requirements are different from any of those mentioned. No tables are presented based on the flat slab recommendations of the Joint Committee as these recommendations are so conservative that they are not used to any extent. The authors have for some time been preparing and using in their practice various tables and diagrams in order to finally obtain complete data in the most, convenient form and of the greatest value to the majority of designing engineers. The collection given in this book is the result. No attempt has been made to develop theory or to duplicate information not directly relating to concrete design which can conveniently be found in other handbooks possessed by all designers.
