This book by Peter Béndek presents a strong case against the current practice of business operations improvement, based on numerous studies from the business world as well as insights from the most prestigious authors of the last fifty years. The author contests the applicability and indeed the relevance of the Toyota Production System and its spin-offs to the Western context, claiming that a revised approach is much better suited to taking our specific cultural conditions into account, while also combining increased transparency, speed, and sustainability of change with a robust value-creating capability. Dr. Béndek argues that this approach can have a far-reaching impact on corporate cultures by offering an all-encompassing learning system, one that provides a more coherent and actionable continuous improvement strategy than conventional approaches. The book offers an important guide to rethinking operations management, both in academia and business practice.

Beyond The Box is a fictious story The story is written as a paradox. Statements within the story are made to shed a little light on the errant and confusing behavior of many in present day society. The main character, Jed (Myis) Turner is a man on a mission. In order to complete it he must first live his life as someone else. His physical person has been altered to look and act exactly like the man he pretends to be. Everyone has heard the statement outside the box. Myiss thinking is beyond the box. The box being that which is normal. The story has a fluctuating viewpoint between the narrator and the characters. The narrator sees the characters as he remembers them. The characters see themselves as altruistic, and liberators of inferior beings. Good and bad things happen when these people become desperate to be socially acceptable and accepted. Those in the limelight, especially politicians who compete for favor, seek to please and appease unhealthy lusts. Unwittingly, they open the door for a barrage of unsolicited emotions causing reactions that are often iniquitous. A paradox is further displayed when Myis falls in love with a woman(Naomi) who represents all he hates. On the other hand, he rejects the woman(Margrielle) who represents the things he loves. He is supposed to create a perfect world of peace and contentment. Instead, he creates one of violence, lust and selfishness. He wants to father a child who will father a perfect nation. He succeeds in creating one that destroys him The story begins at the end.

The national news media, as now practiced, were born in the 1950s, revealed their strength in the 1960s (Vietnam), asserted it in the 1970s (Watergate), and were hammered for it in the 1980s. By the mid- and late 1980s, after historic libel suits, with the press knocking off presidential candidates and Supreme Court nominees, unraveling the Reagan presidency, and in a position to overwhelm any individual or institution, a new era in press-public tension had arisen from the depths of America's civic religion: fair play.In this account of the media mandarins' rise to uneasy domination, Richard M. Clurman gives an intimate critical report of the media in the 1980s, the stormiest years in press history until the present time, and a harbinger of the present day. Beginning with the invasion of Grenada, he takes his readers - event by event - through the biggest uproars in history, raising questions from both the media's and the public's perspective on the key troubling press issues of our time. Why is the press accused of being so negative, so biased, so left-wing, so anti-establishment? Whenever people read or see something they know about, why is it so often wrong, naive, unfair, or all of the above? Why do the media arrogantly try to tell people what to think? Is there no line between privacy and the people's "right to know"? How can the public and government answer back after the media have spoken?Using the Westmoreland v. CBS and the Sharon v. Time trials as emblematic of how things go wrong, the author draws graphic lessons for improved press conduct and wiser public perception. This is an insider's look at what is right and what is wrong with the media's attitudes toward their work played against public and government expectations.

As we have all come into a physical body from who knows where... From Beyond Nothing. A study of Human History clearly shows how the documentation the masses look to was contrived by the Political System, who invented the pinnacle of religion for the sole purpose of control from all angles. It is true, there have so many who have had what has been termed as 'spiritual' experiences, which actually have nothing to do with the political formulation of religion. It has been so that the Religious Orders have actually used the experiences of others and claimed them as their own, to then 'sell' to the public 'their' version of what they have decided what took place and how it should be defined according to 'them.' All of this is right in front of everyone, yet most people still look to the Ruling Systems as those to be 'in the know.' I am for the free choice of everyone, and so each person knows their own mind and life and their own free will. www.DuaneTheGreatWriter.Info

Being in a band is Stelle's salvation. It is her escape from the chaotic clutter at home and her mother's depression. Even though she is able to lose herself for a few hours, pounding away on the drums in the basement of her dad's new house, as soon as she leaves, it's as if the world is going crazy all around her: one bandmate's parents refuse to acknowledge their son is gay; her band's only potential lead singer dresses like a vampire; and even her best friend, Lu, with the "perfect family" has been on edge lately. But it's the strange, confused conversations that Stelle has with her grandmother in the nursing home that hold the key to unlocking the unhappiness at the heart of her family.

I write fiction. Do you ever wish you could go back in time- in your DeLorean if you wish, with the ability to not repeat the bad, but live the good, again? It's what I write. To me a book that makes you think, and think too hard, decreases the "fun" of thinking. To me, when you read my books, I just want you to let your mind go, causing a slant of a smile or an eruption of giggles. And you don't need to think about that. That's more of a spontaneous type of thing.................. If you want to THINK about reading a book that will make you THINK, I'll loan you my old Nursing School books.

lay/Write: Digital Rhetoric, Writing, Games is an edited collection of essays that examines the relationship between games and writing – examining how writing functions both within games and the networks of activity that surround games and gameplay. The collection is organized based on the primary location and function of the game-writing relationship, examining writing about games (games as objects of critique and sites of rhetorical action), ancillary and instructional writing that takes place around games, the writing that takes place within the game, using games as persuasive forms of communication (writing through games), and writing that goes into the production of games. While not every chapter focuses exclusively on pedagogy, the collection includes many selections that consider the possibilities of using computer games in writing instruction. However, it also provides a bridge between academic views of games as contexts for writing and industry approaches to the writing process in game design, as well as an examination of a variety of game-related genres that could be used in composition courses.
