The theory for the calculation of atomic transition probabilities is reviewed. Various useful formulae are given. The experimental and theoretical values by different authors are compared and listed for a number of transitions in hydrogen, lithium, nitrogen, oxygen (I and II), sodium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium. For several transitions for which previous experimental or theoretical results did not exist, values were obtained using the Coulomb approximation method of Bates and Damgaard (Phil. Trans. Roy. Soc. (London) A242, 101 (1949)). Probabilities of electric quadrupole and magnetic dipole transitions in NI, NII, OI and OII were also tabulated. (Author).

The results of theoretical calculations of radiative transition probabilities in positive ions of atomic nitrogen and oxygen are presented. Results of a theoretical multi-state impact parameter calculation for the cross section of the mutual neutralization reaction, H(+) + H( - ) yields H + H are given and compared with experimental data. (Author).

Theoretical calculations of radiative transition probabilities in the four-electrons atoms Nitrogen IV and Oxygen V are presented. A basic element of the theoretical procedure used is the determination of an effective potential for the core electrons. (Author).
