Download Atlas of Pediatric Brain Tumors Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This text was created to fill a void in the practice of pediatric neuropathology. It is a practical and well-illustrated book representing a collection of interesting, common and unusual tumors for a diagnostic exercise by the reader. The wide reception of the first edition by the pathology community is testament to its relevance and utility in the pathologic diagnosis of pediatric brain tumors. This edition covers topics ranging from neuroimaging, the use of crush and touch preps during intraoperative consultation, classic histological features of pediatric brain tumors, tumor variants, and a miscellaneous group of challenging tumors. Chapters consist of essential diagnostic information and features highlighting recognized variants and their differential diagnoses. A section on molecular pathology and electron microscopy is also included for each tumor category, along with a list of classic reviews and innovative articles on each of the tumor entities as suggested reading at the end of each chapter. Atlas of Pediatric Brain Tumors, Second Edition represents the state of the art in pediatric neuropathology with easy utility beside the microscope.

Download Atlas of Clinical Cases on Brain Tumor Imaging Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book presents and analyzes clinical cases of brain tumors and follows the classification provided by the WHO in 2016. After introductory chapters reviewing the international literature on the topic, the advances made in all imaging modalities (especially Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography) are examined. All radiological findings are supplemented with a wealth of images and brief explanations. The clinical information is given as part of the case discussion, as are the characteristics and differential diagnosis of the tumors. Radiologic-pathologic correlations round out the description of each clinical case.Intended as a quick and illustrative reference guide for radiology residents and medical students, this atlas represents the most up-to-date, practice-oriented reference book in the field of Brain Tumor Imaging.

Download Atlas of Brain Tumors Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Despite recent technological innovations in neuroradiology, the ultimate diagnosis of brain tumors is still based on the histopathological findings from specimens taken during surgery. The material in this atlas represents approximately 700 brain tumor specimens collected mainly in the authors' own clinics. In most cases, complementary light-and-electron-microscopic images of the same case are presented. This volume is a clear and comprehensive guide to the pathology of tumors arising from the central nervous system and should prove useful to pathology residents, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and senior medical students.

Download Atlas of Brain and Spine Oncology Imaging Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Atlas of Brain and Spine Oncology Imaging presents a comprehensive visual review of pathologic disease variations of cancers of the brain and spine through extensive radiologic images. The focus of the book is on algorithmic strategies for identifying neoplastic pathologies commonly found in brain and spinal tumors through a visual representation of the variety of appearances that each neoplasm takes, within both benign and malignant manifestations. With contributions from radiologists on staff at a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, who draw from an extensive collection of diagnostic images across all imaging modalities, this book will be valuable to practicing radiologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons and other practitioners involved in the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal neoplasms in all patient populations.

Download Epilepsy Surgery and Intrinsic Brain Tumor Surgery Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book provides a comprehensive and practical guide for the safe and efficient management of patients with intrinsic brain tumors and medically intractable epilepsy. It presents in an easily understandable way the preoperative evaluation of these patients, starting from the clinical interpretation of conventional anatomical MR imaging and analyses the clinical significance of newer MR based imaging techniques such as diffusion and perfusion imaging. It demonstrates with clarity the role of MR spectroscopy and fractional anisotropy and diffusion tensor imaging in the preoperative assessment of these patients and how this data can be incorporated into the surgical planning. This book is aimed at neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neurologists, and epileptologists, and may also be of interest to neuropsychologists, neurophysiologists, radiation oncologists, and medical physicists.

Download Imaging Gliomas After Treatment Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book illustrates the characteristics of imaging after treatment in brain gliomas. It describes in detail the modifications to brain tissue, both healthy and pathological, that can manifest after surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatment. These modifications are discussed in terms of both how they occur in the immediate post-treatment period, and in the long term. The imaging methods used include CT with and without the addition of contrast medium, but above all MRI, which involves the use of routine basic sequences and mainly advanced study techniques such as diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy and cortical activation. The aim of the text is to equip neuroradiologists with adequate expertise in post-treatment examinations reporting, allowing them to perform an effective differential diagnosis between the persistency or recurrence of illness and the effects of short or long-term treatment. The book is divided into a general section, which addresses the classification of cerebral tumors, the surgical treatment options, radiotherapy and chemotherapy protocols; and a section on clinical cases that employs rich iconography, making it quick and easy to consult. This second edition has been updated to reflect the new WHO classification system from 2016; new surgical, radiotherapy and chemotherapeutic treatment options; and (in the iconography section) the new sequences available from the manufacturers of RM scanners.
