THIS IS NO TIME TO RUN AND HIDE America seems to be crumbling from within. Having abandoned the Judeo-Christian values that are the foundation of its culture, our nation, in the eyes of many, is going the way of the great civilizations of the past. If our 250-year experiment in ordered liberty has really run its course, is it time to recognize the inevitable, pack up our families, and head for the hills, hunkering down through the dark days to come? Or is there hope for an American restoration? Tim Goeglein and Craig Osten, battle-hardened veterans of the culture wars, know as well as anyone that the decadence is undeniable. But they make the case that an American restoration is not only possible, but probable—if we act now. The key is for Christians to engage with the culture, not flee from it, to be the salt and light that will renew it from within. That engagement must take place especially at the local level, where real spiritual and cultural transformation occurs. If America returns to its spiritual foundations, the tumultuous times we live in will be nothing more than a bumpy detour in our nation’s history. This book is a roadmap for the way back. In this clear-eyed but hopeful guide to restoration, Goeglein and Osten explain how patriotic Americans, with God’s help, can renew fifteen critical components of our culture. Government will not provide the solutions we desperately need. The solutions lie in our churches, our communities, and our homes. The light for our path is faith. As that light pierces the darkness, America will experience a reawakening, regeneration, and renewal.

When the U.S. government ended its relationship with dozens of Native American tribes and bands between 1953 and 1966, it was engaging in a massive social experiment. Congress enacted the program, known as termination, in the name of ?freeing? the Indians from government restrictions and improving their quality of life. However, removing the federal status of more than nine dozen tribes across the country plunged many of their nearly 13,000 members into deeper levels of poverty and eroded the tribal people?s sense of Native identity. Beginning in 1973 and extending over a twenty-year period, the terminated tribes, one by one, persuaded Congress to restore their ties to the federal government. Nonetheless, so much damage had been done that even today the restored tribes struggle to overcome the problems created by those terminations a half century ago. ø Roberta Ulrich provides a concise overview of all the terminations and restorations of Native American tribes from 1953 to 2006 and explores the enduring policy implications for Native peoples. This is the first book to consider all the terminations and restorations in the twentieth century as part of continuing policy while detailing some of the individual tribal differences. Drawing from Congressional records, interviews with tribal members, and other primary sources, Ulrich delves into the causes and effects of termination and restoration from both sides.

We want our country back. A nefarious ideological movement called "progressivism" has seized control of American culture, rejected American morality, deconstructed American language, and debased American law. What we're fighting is neither a political battle nor a culture war. It's a moral struggle with cultural and political dimensions. The chasm dividing America from progressivism is stark: -America is colorblind; progressivism is racist.-America embraces new Americans; progressivism holds all Americans in contempt.-The American God has Judeo-Christian roots; progressivism worships pure ego.-America is philosemitic; progressivism is deeply antisemitic.-America is proud of its Christian heritage; progressivism distrusts all who have taken Christ into their lives.-America welcomes Muslims who share the American dream; progressivism promotes Islamism.-America is rational and scientific; progressivism is utopian and fantastic.-America embraces faith, community, and civil society; progressivism trusts only in government.-America worships freedom; progressivism promotes thought control.-America believes the best societies arise through interactions among free people making free choices; progressivism relies upon enlightened elite opinion to dictate the rules of society.-America touts its freedom of religion; progressivism grudgingly tolerates freedom of worship.-Israel is American; the EU is progressive.-America is good; progressivism is evil. And those are just selected headlines. What can we do about it? We have only two choices: We can let go of America or we can defeat progressivism. Restorationism is a movement committed to the fight. American Restoration maps out a battle plan for American restorationism. Its discussions drive toward one or more of the four points critical to restoring America-or, to coopt a memorable phrase, to Make America Great Again! Remember Who We Are: We Are Americans!Know the Enemy: The ideology known as Progressivism seeks to undermine our morality-and our sanity.Recognize the Weapons Deployed Against Us: Deconstruction, Fabrication, and Projection-or lies, lies, lies.Master the Arsenal of Defense & Counterattack: Definition, Examination, and Reflection-call them out on their lies. That's it. That's the grand strategy. Deploy it, and we win. We reclaim our great American nation. We restore our shining city on a hill. Continue as we've been going, and all bets are off.Read here to learn how to win this Second American Civil War.

Rarely does scholarship anticipate the most dramatic events of the moment. In this timely work Gary Hart does just that, arguing for the restoration of republican virtues and for homeland security as an important first step. The American democratic republic has from its founding been a paradoxical success. Simultaneously attached to state and national power, citizens' rights and citizens' duties, American democracy has uniquely turned its reliance on consent from the governed into a powerful governing of the consenting. In a remarkable political feat, America's founders combined mixed government, the language of popular sovereignty and a self-conscious emphasis on checks and balances to forge a republic that has weathered the test of time. The complex realities of the twenty-first century, however, have fundamentally challenged the underpinnings of this enduring American experiment, repeatedly exposing the tensions at the heart of America's mixed system of government. What then is the nature of an American republic in an age of democracy? How can the democratic values of social justice and equality be balanced with republican values of civic duty and popular sovereignty? Bringing to light a long-neglected aspect of Thomas Jefferson's political philosophy--the "ward republic"--Gary Hart here offers a wholly original blueprint for republican restoration in which every citizen can participate democratically in the governing of his or her own life. Of crucial relevance for contemporary society, including its startlingly prescient plan for homeland security, Restoration of the Republic provides original insights into issues of national urgency as well as the timeless questions that bedevil the American democratic experiment.
