The purpose of my autobiography is to give my heart-felt thanks to the Lord for what He has done for me for the past 60 years beginning from 1950 when I became a Christian during the war of Pohang in the boundary of life and death to 2010 when I officially closed the Lord's ministry as pastor of International Bible Church in Los Angeles. The desire of writing this book is totally on my own, for neither did the Lord ever ask me to write this book, nor did He ever need this book to be written. When a person receives God's amazing grace, loving mercy and abiding peace, in him is welling up a spring of water of thanksgiving from his inner heart without ceasing until he shares its amazing grace and loving mercy and abiding peace with others. This is just what I have done in this book. I am giving the Lord my heart-felt thanksgiving for the 20 miracles that have happened to me for the past 60 years without which I wouldn't be here today. To God be the glory and honor forever, Amen! Mark E. Oh, PhD, DMin, is a graduate of Keimyung University (Korea), San Francisco Theological Seminary, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Western Seminary, California Graduate School of Theology, and Fuller Theological Seminary. Married to the former Rosemary McGuire in 1965. They have two sons and four grand children; is the Founder & Pastor of International Bible Church in Los Angeles (1972-2010) for more than 38 years. Served as First President of Christ Bible College, 2002-2009. Retired from active ministry in 2009. Serves as pastor emeritus since 2010.

Our subject is "The Secret of Abiding Peace". Abounding joy, and Abundant Victory in War Times and at All Times." You will find the text in Genesis 5:24, "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." In the description of Enoch's walk given in our text we find the secret of abiding peace, abounding joy, and abundant victory in war times and at all times. To my mind, the text is one of the most fascinating and thrilling verses in the entire Bible. It sounds more like a song from a heavenly world than a plain statement of historical facts regarding a humble inhabitant of this world of ours, but such it is, and it is possible for each one of us to so live and act that it may be recorded of us, "He walked with God," and later, "then he was no more, because God took him away." The position of this verse in the Bible is significant and suggestive. There has been, in the verses immediately preceding, a very ordinary, commonplace, and, at first sight, long recital of how one man after another of the olden time lived so many years, fathered a son, continued to live so many years, and fathered other sons and daughters, and then died. Then suddenly Enoch is introduced and the story begins just as the other stories begin and goes on just as the other stories go on, and seems about to end just as the other stories end, but, no, there is this fresh breath from heaven and these melodious tones sound out: "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." Then the story goes on again in the same old strain. Remember that this account belongs to a far away time, thousands of years before Christ, and about a thousand years before the Flood, and yet what depth of truth and beauty there is in it. Are there not lessons for us to learn from that far, far-away olden time? The entire authentic history of Enoch is contained in nine verses in the Bible, six in the Old Testament, three in the New. History outside of the Bible is utterly unacquainted with him, yet he stands out as one of the most remarkable and admirable men of whom history speaks, a man whom God honored as He has honored but one other member of the entire race. Enoch's greatness was the kind that pleases God. We are told in the 11th chapter of Hebrews and the fifth verse that "By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God." Quite likely his greatness did not win very hearty commendation from his contemporaries. However, that was not of much consequence. His greatness did not consist of military renown, political power, profound scholarship, successful statesmanship, splendid artistic or architectural genius, or even of magnificent philanthropic achievement. It was greatness of a more quiet and less pretentious and visible nature, but of a far more real and lasting nature; it was greatness of character. "He walked with God," and God so enjoyed his fellowship that He took Enoch to be with Himself permanently. I wish to make clear to you all three things: first, what it is to walk with God; second, what are some of the results of walking with God; third, how we may get into such a walk ourselves

"What do you want from me?" The tone of this question that I passionately asked the Lord during this season comes from a place of broken humility and sincere desire. I was in the middle of a mental battle that was full of anxiety and chaos. I was crying out to God in sincere prayer in the midst of my pain. There was no fancy theology attached to my petition. Only sincere cries to be delivered from this pain. Have you been in a difficult season like I was? Do you ever dream of having more peace in your life? Do you consistently relate to words like anxiety, fear, stress, mental unrest, disorder, or hostility? If so, this book is for you. In this book I take a practical and theological approach to the topic of peace, through the lens of abiding in Christ. My heart for this book is: ?To help you see what it means to have an intimate abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. ?That through this relationship you will gain practical Biblical understanding of how to abide in His peace.?To help you learn to identify sources that detract from your peace along with practical tools to deal with them. ?To show you how to win the mental battle that rages in many of our minds. At the end of each chapter is an application-focused workbook section that will help you take what you are learning and incorporate it into your daily discipleship journey, share in a small group, or teach others. Whether you struggle with mental illness, have anxiety and fear, know someone struggling to find peace, or simply want to explore this topic through a biblical lens, this book is for you. Abiding in Peace will encourage you on your journey and help you find healing and abundant life.
