With this aim the text has been revised and divided into numbered sections and a large amount of new matter has been added to the notes. Although the alterations of the text have been in the direction of condensation, the added notes increase the size of the book about one third. Most of the editorial work is in the notes. Increased convenience in use is secured by a thorough index and a great number of cross-references in the notes. The American Decisions and Reports, the American State Reports, the Lawyer's Reports Annotated and the National Reporter System are exhaustively cited. It is believed that the citation of authorities is more nearly complete than in any other work on this topic.
