This refutation by the Greek author Apostolos Makrakis on the Pope's claim to Papal Primacy/Supremacy was written in a series of many articles published in the Athens newspaper entitled "The Logos" in the 1870s, and is translated here into English. Makrakis composed this logical disproof of the Papal claim to supremacy and infallibility in the Church as a whole. Makrakis uses various key scriptures, dogmas from the Seven Ecumenical Councils and the 1583 AD 'Sigillion' by Patriarch Jeremiah to refute a series of provoking articles in another Roman Catholic newspaper published in Syros called the "Orient." These articles were produced by a group of missionaries under the auspices of the pope in Hermoupolis (Syros) for the purposes of spreading Roman Catholicism in that part of the world.

Rome's Audacious Claim is a historical and biblical refutation of the Roman Catholic Church claim that the pope has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church.Paul Pavao gives the real history of "papal primacy" from sources both ancient and modern that anyone can put their hands on. In the process, Paul shows that the claims of Catholic apologists like Jimmy Akin, Scott Hahn, Stephen Ray, Patrick Madrid, and Dave Armstrong are refuted by their own scholars. He also establishes that the Vatican itself is being forced to retreat from primacy claims because of with Eastern Orthodox Churches.Paul establishes the difference between apologists who argue whether the facts support them or not and scholars who are held to honesty by other scholars. He does all this in words readable by laity, clergy, and scholars alike. As Welsh apologist and church planter J.T. Tancock says, "Paul Pavao is a trustworthy and honest voice in a field where hype, imagination, wishful thinking and downright lies are commonplace."

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger's election as Pope Benedict XVI brought a world-class biblical theologian to the papacy. There is an intensely biblical quality to his pastoral teaching and he has demonstrated a keen concern for the authentic interpretation of sacred Scripture. Here a foremost interpreter of Catholic thought and life offers a probing look at Benedict's biblical theology and provides a clear and concise introduction to his life and work. Bestselling author and theologian Scott Hahn argues that the heart of Benedict's theology is salvation history and the Bible and shows how Benedict accepts historical criticism but recognizes its limits. The author also explains how Benedict reads the overall narrative of Scripture and how he puts it to work in theology, liturgy, and Christian discipleship.
