Excerpt from The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, Vol. 54: An American Journal of Neurology and Psychiatry; July-December, 1921 In the first series of experiments I took as object of his desire a blotting-.paper-'book, with which the patient used to play. He re acts immediately, seizes the box, tries to force the lattices and knocks on the box. His hand is now placed near to the hooklet. He makes some movements thereabout, and seizes the hooklet. After that he again moves higher and forces the door above - as the whole instru ment is rather delicate, a rattling is provoked in that way. After that he throws the whole box aside. In the present book, scholars and activists from a variety of disciplinary perspectives engage each other around the topic of forgiveness. They examine its benefits and costs, its motives, and its limitations. The different voices do not sing in unity, but by the end of the book, you might conclude that some times of beautiful harmony were heard.
