"Harding Lawson Associates (HLA) in cooperation with Canadian Marine Drilling Ltd. (CANMAR) and McGregor Geophysical is prepared to carry out high-resolution geophysical surveys within the Alaskan Beaufort Sea/Chukchi Sea. The surveys are designed to acquire both analogue and digital (24-channel) seismic reflection data that conform to federal permit requirements for the siting of exploratory drilling operations. HLA will act as prime contractor for geophysical services and will be directly responsible for managing the program, directing the field surveys, performing data interpretation, and preparing geologic hazard reports in accordance with Alaska OCS Order No. 2, Section 2.a.3, and with NTL-83-5 (Appendix C). HLA has committed to charter either of two ice-class vessels for 1988 geohazard survey program. The vessels selected are the CANMAR Supplier VII and the CANMAR Teal. ... Both vessels are based out of McKinley Bay in the Canadian Beaufort Sea, less than 48 hours steaming time from Camden Bay, Alaska.
