Phily and I have been riding these trails for many years. People come from all over and ask us for directions. Sometimes they want to know the fastest way back to the parking lot. They may ask how to get to the beach or trails that are not exposed to the hot sun. We decided to write this book from both of our perspectives. It is important to us to convey the unique relationship between person and horse, and with nature. The trails in Point Reyes are incredibly beautiful and varied with over 150 miles of trails, roads and 70,000 acres of land. You ride through forests, see breathtaking ocean views and have access to beaches. We will be discussing the trails and conditions from both of our perspectives. We have had many wonderful and some scary adventures over the years. We hope this guide makes your travels easier, more fun and safe.
