Piano Concerto No. 3 "Maryland Concerto" is dedicated to the composer's dear friend, Janice M. Puckett. She convinced him to write piano concertos for students of all levels, and these became part of the repertoire list of The Greater Laurel MTA Concerto Competition. After conducting a Piano Olympics with Jan's students in 2006, Alexander Peskanov was driving home to New York taking the famous route, I-95. As he was approaching Ft. McHenry tunnel, Peskanov suddenly heard a very joyous and captivating theme. He thought about Jan and her daughter, Joy. By the time he came out of the tunnel, the first movement was almost complete. The long drive ahead provided the time and inspiration to begin work on the 2nd and 3rd movements. When Peskanov returned home, he immediately rushed to the piano and played through the entire concerto. That six-hour drive was the conception of a valuable contribution to children's piano concerto repertoire.

The second edition of William Phemister’s The American Piano Concerto Compendium reveals to professional and amateurs pianists alike a vast collection of available compositions by American composers. Analysis expands outside mainstream concerto styles to include those considered experimental or popular derivatives. The range of music flows from Pulitzer Prize winners like Samuel Barber, Gail Kubik, and John LaMontaine, to lesser-known multi-ethnic composers such as Tania León and Samuel Zyman, to old standards like Edward MacDowell and the first piano concerto written by an American-born composer, Otis B. Boise (1875), to the cutting-edge avant-garde of Milton Babbitt and Elliott Carter, just to name a few. These all contribute to the varied narrative that animates American piano music. With forty percent more works described, documented, and reviewed than were listed in the 1985 first edition from the College Music Society, this second edition is a valuable resource not only for pianists and conductors, but also for orchestras, teachers, students, music historians and critics, collectors, and concert attendees.

Concert pianist, composer, and master teacher Alexander Peskanov has written Spring Concerto as a bridge to the concerto repertoire that will help pianists at the intermediate level experience the joys of performing a concerto at a young age. Inspired by springtime-themed masterpieces by Vivaldi, Haydn, and Beethoven, this concerto for solo piano with piano accompaniment is divided into four distinctive movements: "The March of Spring," "April Scherzo," "Sunset Reverie," and "May Rondo." The movements explore Classical forms, such as sonata-allegro form and rondo form, while depicting the lively sounds of nature in spring.
