This report summarizes the implementation of the approved work plan which was implemented from August 3, 1998 through October 27, 1998 at the Ithaca First Street Former MGP Site, presently the Ithaca Municipal Waste Water Treatment Facility, located on Third Street in the City of Ithaca. The work plan was undertaken by NYSEG and consisted of the removal and disposal of 12,610 tons of stockpiled coal tar soil and debris. This material was generated in 1986 during a phase of construction for the Waste Water Treatment Facility, and the contaminated soil was stockpiled on the northern portion of the Facility. This work plan was reviewed and approved on July 31, 1998 by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

This report summarizes the implementation of the approved Interim Remedial Measures Work Plan for Activities at Ithaca Court street Former Manufactured Gas Plant Site, Subsurface Wooden Duct Extension, City of Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York which was accomplished from March 13, 2000 through March 24, 2000. This work consisted of removal and disposal of free phase tar contained in the subsurface wooden duct and any coal tar contaminated soil surrounding the duct that exists under the properties of the Old Port Harbor Restaurant and Watts Distributing Compnay. The wooden duct was part of the plant operation that connected the Ithaca Court Street Former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Site and the Ithaca Cayuga Inlet Coal Tar Site.
