This initially did not start out as my journey or even as a book. It began as smaller blogs on my Facebook page: TRUTH FOR TODAY. I headed this blog up as “Writing of the Week”. Each week I would write about one of the books I have written. These not only promoted these books but also there was a lot of insight written in them. There was a lot of history of the past several years when I started becoming an Christian Author. I began this journey in 1997, maybe even some preparation and rejection several years earlier. I decided to compile all of these blogs into one file. I thought that this might be a good thing to place on my author page as an introduction to myself and my writings. I started reviewing these and these not only told about each book and subject matter, but also about my history that I was going through. It told of my success and also told of my failures. It revealed my frustrations, but also revealed my faith. It revealed my faith, my walk with the Lord over several years and also how I had grown in that walk. Honestly, I stand back and look at all these and am amazed at what the Lord had built. Yes, I said what the Lord has built through me. These also tell about me. Tells about me as a writer, but also tells about me as a person. You get to know the content of these writings, but you get to know the writer of all these books. Maybe it would still have been a good post on an author page, but the more I looked at this and read this, it has so much information and teaching, it also is a great book and biography on myself. This will teach you how to get into writing if you are interested. It will teach you about electronic book technology. First you have to have the desire to write, but this technology is really simple once you learn this and dive into it. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian Author,, a children's book author, a non-fiction or fiction author. The process is the same. It is virtually no cost to you but can reap many benefits. I thought making this free was a good idea, but at low cost, there is so many values and benefits to buying. I know you will find this interesting and insightful. You will learn much in this one writing that you would learn in years of experience. It will make you think and meditate about many subjects. It will test and try your faith. But it will motivate you to begin. Everything begins with just one step; one small step of faith. At the very least it will introduce you to the different books I have written and which ones may be of more interest to your particular tastes or what you may be going through and thinking about now. Be Blessed in all you do. Do everything as unto the Lord and you will prosper in all you do. PATRICK J VAUGHAN

Winner of the Michael L. Printz Medal ★“King’s narrative concerns are racism, patriarchy, colonialism, white privilege, and the ingrained systems that perpetuate them. . . . [Dig] will speak profoundly to a generation of young people who are waking up to the societal sins of the past and working toward a more equitable future.”—Horn Book, starred review “I’ve never understood white people who can’t admit they’re white. I mean, white isn’t just a color. And maybe that’s the problem for them. White is a passport. It’s a ticket.” Five estranged cousins are lost in a maze of their family’s tangled secrets. Their grandparents, former potato farmers Gottfried and Marla Hemmings, managed to trade digging spuds for developing subdivisions and now they sit atop a million-dollar bank account—wealth they’ve refused to pass on to their adult children or their five teenage grandchildren. “Because we want them to thrive,” Marla always says. But for the Hemmings cousins, “thriving” feels a lot like slowly dying of a poison they started taking the moment they were born. As the rot beneath the surface of the Hemmings’ white suburban respectability destroys the family from within, the cousins find their ways back to one another, just in time to uncover the terrible cost of maintaining the family name. With her inimitable surrealism, award winner A.S. King exposes how a toxic culture of polite white supremacy tears a family apart and how one determined generation can dig its way out.

A biography of one of Canada's leading poets. Traces Acorn's roots in Prince Edward Island and shows that family, landscape, and the troubled shades of postcolonial society were continuous spurs to his creative life. Connects his self-perpetuated image as a working-class rebel, and his peculiar brand of communism, to his employment history and experience of war. His troubled relationships with family and friends, and his ill health, are explored as sources both of pain and inspiration. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
