Designed for More calls every Christian to consider how, through collective movement, they can bring about Christ's daring vision for unity in the Church to impact the world like never before. Our world is divided and fragmented. Even among followers of Christ, God's great story of reconciliation has been crippled because the messengers of that story are unreconciled. But God designed us for so much more. Thankfully, He has hidden incredible lessons in nature to help solve complex human problems. Designed for More draws groundbreaking implications for how to achieve unity and collective movement through new research on a jaw-dropping phenomenon of flocking starlings known as a murmuration. This marvel is one of nature's most spectacular sights: Imagine hundreds of thousands of birds in motion, caressing the sky like a brush on canvas. It is a beautiful madness that is completely ordered. Join authors Lucas Ramirez and Mike DeVito as they unveil the power of the murmuration principles in order to inspire unity in individuals and the Church as a whole. Birds first taught us to fly, and now they will teach us to unify!

Download Design For More-Than-Human Futures Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This book explores the work of important authors in the search for a transition towards more ethical design focused on more-than-human coexistence. In a time of environmental crises in which the human species threatens its own survival and the highest level of exacerbation of the idea of a future and technological innovation, it is important to discard certain anthropocentric categories in order to situate design beyond the role that it traditionally held in the capitalist world, creating opportunities to create more just and sustainable worlds. This book is an invitation to travel new paths for design framed by ethics of more-than-human coexistence that breaks with the unsustainability installed in the designs that outfit our lives. Questioning the notion of human-centered design is central to this discussion. It is not only a theoretical and methodological concern, but an ethical need to critically rethink the modern, colonialist, and anthropocentric inheritance that resonates in design culture. The authors in this book explore the ideas oriented to form new relations with the more-than-human and with the planet, using design as a form of political enquiry. This book will be of interest to academics and students from the world of design and particularly those involved in emerging branches of the field such as speculative design, critical design, non-anthropocentric design, and design for transition.

Download More Perfect by Design Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Excellence doesn't just happen. It needs to be designed, and even the best designs can be improved upon. That's something that Angelo Baratta, who spent more than thirty years leading more than a hundred projects for more than fifty organizations, discovered the hard way. While most of these projects succeeded, success rates were never as high as they should have been. This, he determined, was the direct result of the design of the business processes. By mastering process design, organizations can achieve much higher success rates, and all stakeholders can benefit. With this guidebook, you'll learn how to improve performance by employing the Relational Process Model - a systematic approach to designing a business processes. You'll learn: the power of linking execution to strategy; various strategies to make value visible; how to measure and promote excellence; ways to promote meaningful change; many other methods to improve business operations. It is essential to improve the design of business processes because organizations don't just deliver services - they are also where people spend a good portion of their lives. Connect strategy, processes, projects, and performance, and equip yourself with the tools you need to improve your organization with More Perfect by Design.

Download Analysis and Design of Power Converter Topologies for Application in Future More Electric Aircraft Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This thesis proposes new power converter topologies suitable for aircraft systems. It also proposes both AC-DC and DC-DC types of converters for different electrical loads to improve the performance these systems. To increase fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impacts, less efficient non-electrical aircraft systems are being replaced by electrical systems. However, more electrical systems requires more electrical power to be generated in the aircraft. The increased consumption of electrical power in both civil and military aircrafts has necessitated the use of more efficient electrical power conversion technologies. This book presents acomprehensive mathematical analysis and the design and digital simulation of the power converters. Subsequently it discusses the construction of the hardware prototypes of each converter and the experimental tests carried out to verify the benefits of the proposed solutions in comparison to the existing solutions.
