Part 4, formerly issued quarterly, but now issued monthly, is arranged as follows: I. Containing Class G, Works of art (giving a list of the photographs or other identifying reproductions, deposited according to law with the applications for copyright of Drawings, Paintings, Statues, Statuary, and Models or Designs for works of art). In this class a subalphabet of titles is used when the copyright proprietor and artist are the same, this identity being indicated by the use of an asterisk (*) after the name of the proprietor. A subalphabet of artists is used when the proprietor and artists are different. II. Containing titles for Class H, Reproductions of a work of art; Class I, Drawings or plastic works of a scientific or technical character; Class J, Photographs (except Motion pictures); and Class K, Prints and pictorial illustrations. In these classes a subalphabet of artists and titles is also used. Part 4 also contains in two separate alphabets of proprietors, the titles of commercial prints and labels. These will be found at the end of each issue. A list of copyright renewals will be found at the end of each alphabet of proprietors. To save space in the Catalog, the copyright notice after each title is abbreviated. The abbreviations used in this part are as follows: "G," Class G, Works of art; "H," Class H, Reproductions of a work of art; "I," Class I, Drawings or plastic works of a scientific or technical character; "J," Class J, Photographs; and "K," Class K, Prints and pictorial illustrations, including prints and labels used for articles of merchandise. "(c)" implies copyright registration of a published work, followed by date of publication. "(c) 1 c." stands for copyright registration of an unpublished work, followed by date of receipt in the Copyright Office of the photograph or other identifying reproduction. The annual index contains the names of all proprietors. The Act of March 4, 1909, in effect from July 1, 1909, provides that the Catalog of Copyright Entries "shall be admitted in any court as prima facie evidence of the facts stated therein as regards any copyright registration."
